It's National Doctor's Day!

Posted by Anny Zhang on Mar 29, 2016 10:00:00 PM

Today is National Doctor's Day! Take some time to think about all of the physicians who have cared for you over the years and let them know how much you care about them!

Doctor's Day was first celebrated in Georgia on March 30th in 1933 when Eudora Brown Almond, the wife of physician, Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided there should be a day dedicated to celebrating doctors; March the 30th was chosen given its significance as the first time general anesthesia (ether) was used on a patient (occurred in 1842).

A handful of countries have a celebratory day dedicated to physicians.

Happy National Doctor's Day!
