Hello, Folks!

This week we will see some words with similar spelling, but complete different meanings. These tricky words are called "False Cognates" or "False Friends."

Take note:

In Spanish, when a woman is PREGNANT, we use the word... EMBARAZADA.

However, when someone feels EMBARRASSED, we use the word... AVERGONZADO.

Summarizing:

EMBARAZADA = PREGNANT
AVERGONZADO = EMBARRASSED

Examples:

La mujer embarazada estaba AVERGONZADA.
The pregnant woman was EMBARRASSED.

El dóctor estaba AVERGONZADO porque no hablaba español.
The doctor was EMBARRASSED because he did not speak Spanish
