Hey, folks!

This week we have another "False Friends" tip in our Take Note series. Today's words are Chocar Vs. Choke.

In Spanish, "chocar" means: "to strike," "to collide."

On the other hand, if you want to say "to choke" -- the Spanish word for that is "ahogar".

Example:

La policía cree que a la víctima la ahogaron con una almohada.
Police officers believe the victim was suffocated with a pillow.

Los dos lados chocaron en un conflicto violento.
The two sides clashed in a violent conflict.
