CEO, Michael Cullinan and Manager of Advocacy & Partnerships, Olivia Norrmén-Smith, will be speaking on the "Anatomy of the Pilot" panel this coming Sunday 25th to help kick off the 10th Annual Health 2.0 Fall Conference.

the pilot

The Canopy team recently worked with Mount Sinai Hospital's Emergency Medicine (EM) residents in a qualitative pilot experience around the Canopy Speak app.  We will be discussing this experience at Health 2.0's conference.

Mount Sinai's EM residents work in the most linguistically diverse city in the world; a highly suitable place to pilot a technology that seeks to better connect individuals across linguistic and cultural barriers.  Additionally, emergency medicine — in comparison to many other fields in medicine — demands health communication tools that are immediate in a far more critical capacity. As EM residents have a high caseload of patients and work in an environment characterized by urgency with greater need for expeditious translation tools, their detailed narratives, analysis, and suggestions for the Canopy Speak technology were invaluable. In fact, in conjunction with other qualitative user research initiatives, catalyzed the creation of a new Canopy technology currently in development.
