This Los Angeles Times article is a few months old, but should not be forgotten as its message is of consequence. The piece discusses the shortage of Latino doctors and the ramifications when doctor and patient do not speak the same language. With few Latino doctors for hundreds of thousands of Latino patients, it is vital that non-Hispanic white doctors are active in their attempts to learn Spanish.
