Canopy’s technology is used in clinical settings to improve healthcare for 30 million+ people in the United States who speak limited English. Overseas, for international health initiatives, the app is an enormous asset to facilitate research and clinical work. The app’s translated medical and dental content (4,000+ phrases) enable providers to take a patient history and conduct a physical exam, give procedural instruction, ask questions about immunizations, healthcare maintenance and more in 15 different languages. Over the last few months, a number of medical institutions and organizations have worked with Canopy to make the app available to students and faculty involved with medical projects abroad. The large majority of the app's content is available offline: you can be working in a rural clinic without cell connection or wifi and still play the phrases out loud.
Two notable partners: the Global Health Center at the Institute for Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis in addition to Harvard’s Global Health Delivery Project Online have both made the Canopy app available to their communities.
